Between the desire for ultra-smooth length and the fear of burning your length, the straightener remains an ambivalent tool for many. For a long time, getting a salon-worthy blow-dry meant accepting extreme heat, dryness and weakened fibers. What if this equation finally started to change?
On the market, a generation of devices promises to straighten quickly while better preserving the fiber. This is the case of the Corioliss C3 infrared straightener, with titanium plates and gentle heating from the inside out, which we tested on different types of hair.
Why the Corioliss C3 infrared straightener appeals to fragile hair
A classic straightener mainly heats the surface of the hair, opens the cuticles and can cause real drying over time. Corioliss C3’s infrared technology heats the fiber from the inside out, more evenly, which helps preserve natural hydration and therefore suppleness.
Specialist in professional hairdressing equipment, was one of the first brands to replace ceramic with titanium in its plates. This material slides easily over the wick and diffuses stable heat; combined with negative ions, it reduces static electricity and frizz for smooth and shiny hair.
Performance of the Corioliss C3 infrared straightener during our tests
In practice, the device reaches the chosen temperature in around twenty seconds. On medium-length hair, we obtained complete straightening in less than five minutes, with only one or two passes per strand. The lengths are disciplined without being crushed, the frizz is reduced, the touch is soft and the shine is there.
The Corioliss C3 infrared straightener relies on long titanium plates, an adjustable thermostat from approximately 135 to 235°C and is suitable for all hair types. Lightweight, equipped with a rotating cord and automatic shut-off after 30 minutes, it features a leopard-print Soft Touch coating, contrasted by plastic adjustment buttons.
Use Corioliss C3 correctly for soft and shiny hair
To benefit from infrared heat without weakening the fiber, everything depends mainly on the temperature and the number of passes. The C3 is suitable for fine, normal, thick or curly hair, as long as you adjust the setting:
- Fine or sensitized hair: aim for 150 to 170°C, with one slow pass per strand.
- Normal hair: stay between 170 and 190°C, without exceeding two passes.
- Thick or very curly hair: heat to between 190 and 210°C, always on very dry hair.
Before each straightening, we applied a heat-protective treatment to perfectly dry hair. To limit damage, it is better to work on thin sections, slide the Corioliss C3 without stopping, avoid daily touch-ups and take advantage of the softness obtained to space out heat sessions.
Does Corioliss C3 damage hair?
At the right temperature, it remains very soft.
Is it suitable for fine hair?
Yes, just stay under 170°C.
How long to straighten?
