On the heights of Argelès-sur-Mer, the vines of Château de Valmy descend towards the Mediterranean as the June light sets in. From June 4 to 6, 2026, this setting will host the Bacchus Festival 2026, three evenings where people come as much for the glass as for the stage.
Born in 2022 in the heart of the vineyard, this event has established itself as the launch of the Catalan summer. Its principle is clear: to bring together open-air concerts and the discovery of Roussillon wines, with a 100% local and gourmet promise.
Bacchus Festival 2026, a unique setting to celebrate Roussillon
Bacchus is experienced in a natural amphitheater, between the reliefs of the Albères and the marine horizon. Century-old pines, rows of vines, lawn under the stars: the Château de Valmy park creates a timeless bubble, with a deliberately limited gauge to remain comfortable.
This atmosphere is accompanied by strong commitment. , explains the team on the official website. Everything is carried out by local actors, right down to the video recordings provided by students from the IDEM Creative Arts School.
Winegrowers, Bacchus d’Or and returnable glass: the terroir at the center
At the center of the festival, a gourmet village brings together more than fifty Catalan winegrowers and artisans, or 54 exhibitors, including 18 different each evening. In connection with the Roussillon wine inter-professional association, we discover a wide range of AOP and IGP, always served in a short circuit.
The Bacchus d’Or competitions then distinguish the best vintages, tasted blind by a jury mixing enlightened amateurs and professionals. Twelve prizes reward the great appellations of Roussillon, from IGP Côtes Catalanes to natural sweet wines Maury, Muscat de Rivesaltes or Rivesaltes, plus an Artist’s Favorite, already entrusted to Ibrahim Maalouf or Bénabar. A dedicated stand allows you to taste the award-winning wines, while Verréo collects bottles and corks for reuse or local recycling.
Live music and a human-scale experience at Bacchus Festival 2026
On the stage side, each evening features three concerts facing the sea. On June 4, Bess, Ben Mazué and Claudio Capéo will open the ball, before Vanessa Paradis, Lilly Wood and the Prick and Bon Entendeur on the 5th, then Suzane, Kyo and Skip The Use on the 6th, with the band Aïoli Beach between sets.
You can arrive early to explore the stands, put together a plate of local products, chat with the winemakers, then sit down on the grass for the next concert. With day passes priced around $44 and a family atmosphere, the Bacchus Festival can be enjoyed gently, always in moderation.
