You know, those dark circles that are still there after a lie-in, a week without a night out and a very reasonable amount of series watched until 2 a.m.? These may just not be fatigue circles. When they are brown and almost never move, it could be dark circles. And in this case, sleeping more will unfortunately not make the problem disappear (otherwise it would be much too simple).
It is precisely on these types of issues that Nubiance was built. The French brand was born in 2016 with a fairly obvious idea… which however was not so obvious at the time: to create skincare products really designed for dark, mixed and black skin, often much less represented in cosmetic tests. Hyperpigmentation, persistent marks, spots: Nubiance started there before gradually expanding its range.
Seven active ingredients because a dark circle never comes alone (obviously)
First interesting thing: Nubiance did not focus on a single star ingredient hoping that it would stand up to everything else. The treatment brings together seven active ingredients which do not all do the same work. For pigmentary dark circles, we find in particular hexylresorcinol, used in treatments targeting pigmentary irregularities, as well as an extract of terminalia chebula.
And because our eye contour sometimes likes to accumulate dark circles + bags + small fine lines in the same morning, the formula adds caffeine for the puffy appearance of the eyes. On the first wrinkle side, we also come across bakuchiol, hyaluronic acid and acetyl hexapeptide-8. Basically, Nubiance didn’t choose between “anti-dark circles”, “anti-puffiness” and “anti-wrinkles”. The brand decided to put all three in the same tube. This already saves us from building a pyramid of products in front of us.
13% less area of the dark circle after 28 days: now it gets interesting
Because “fresher eyes” and “rested eyes” look nice on a box, but we also like to have a concrete number. Nubiance announces a 13% reduction in the surface area of the dark circles after 28 days of use, measured instrumentally on 21 volunteers.* Said like that, obviously, one should not imagine that the dark circles have completely disappeared after a month. That would be great, but no. What we are talking about here is a measured reduction in their surface area, which is already much more precise than a simple impression of a less tired look.
And on the users’ side, the feeling goes in the same direction: 70% find their dark circles less visible, but also their bags less significant and their wrinkles or fine lines smoother after 28 days.** The treatment also has a slight corrective tint.
The right eye contour when sleeping is clearly no longer enough
What interests me most about Eye-Re is that it does not assume that a dark circle is necessarily just “a sign of fatigue”. On skin rich in melanin, hyperpigmentation can largely contribute to this darker appearance of the eye contour. And in this case, putting a cold spoon under your eyes every morning is especially likely to make you feel cold (sorry). The formula is fragrance-free, which is quite welcome on this area which tends to act like a diva as soon as you put something a little too aggressive on it.
A small amount is enough morning and/or evening. Tap gently from the inner corner outwards, without rubbing as if you wanted to erase the dark circle with your fingers. And above all, we give him time. The announced results were observed after 28 days, not after three evenings of use between two series episodes.
Why do my dark circles stay even when I sleep well?
Because not all dark circles are linked to fatigue. Dark circles are particularly associated with a greater presence of melanin in this area. They often have a brown coloring and can be especially noticeable on dark to dark skin tones. Getting more sleep can improve the overall appearance of your eyes, but is not necessarily enough to make them disappear. This is where a treatment also targeting pigmentation becomes more relevant.
What are the active ingredients of Nubiance Eye-Re concealer?
The formula brings together seven active ingredients with several objectives. It includes hexylresorcinol and Terminalia chebula for pigmentary problems, as well as caffeine for the appearance of bags. Bakuchiol, hyaluronic acid and acetyl hexapeptide-8 complete the part dedicated to fine lines and hydration. It is therefore an eye contour that does not only take care of the color of the dark circles. It also targets swelling and the first signs of aging.

Nubiance evaluated its treatment after 28 days of use. The instrumental test reports 13% less ring surface area.* We must therefore forget the idea of the spectacular result after two applications. Regularity matters a lot with this type of pigment problem. And if you use the treatment in the morning, sun protection remains essential to prevent UV rays from damaging the spots.
