We thought we had tested just about everything to try to keep three more hairs on our head: rosemary, caffeine, peptides… Medicube however comes with an ingredient that we had frankly never heard of in a hair serum: deoxyribose.
The what? A sugar naturally present in our DNA, which has recently interested researchers for its potential for hair regrowth. And obviously, K-beauty didn’t wait very long before taking an interest in it (we know them).
65.64% less breakage after 4 weeks
Medicube announces 65.64% less breakage after four weeks of use. A particularly interesting figure when you are looking to gain length but the ends and weakened hair break almost as quickly as they grow.
The formula doesn’t stop at deoxyribose. It also contains caffeine, biotin, rosemary, copper peptide and several other peptides. In other words, Medicube has clearly filled its bottle with a good part of the active ingredients that we currently come across in “hair growth” routines (for that matter).
A quick reminder though: less breakage does not mean 65.64% more hair. But when the lengths are constantly weakening, preserving the hair already present can make a real difference in its appearance.

No question here of putting it on all lengths. This serum is used directly on the scalp, particularly on the temples, forehead, roots or top of the head. Medicube then recommends lightly massaging the area to distribute the formula. And good news for those who hate endless hair routines: no need to rinse.
The composition still contains menthol and several essential oils. If your scalp is the type to protest at the slightest change (we know), start slowly. And if you notice a sudden or lasting loss, it’s better to find the cause rather than pouring three serums on your roots. Deficiency, stress, hormonal problem or alopecia sometimes require very different care.
Does deoxyribose really make hair grow?
Initial research is encouraging, particularly on an animal model. The researchers observed several parameters favorable to regrowth. On the other hand, there is still a lack of solid data in humans. It is therefore far too early to compare it directly to medical treatment. But it’s clearly an asset to watch.
How quickly can you see a difference?
Medicube communicates on a reduction in breakage after four weeks. To judge a change in density, you generally have to be much more patient. Hair doesn’t grow in a few days (even with the best serum in the world). A photo taken every month in the same place remains much more reliable than the mirror.
Where to apply a Korean serum for growth?
Directly on the scalp, where you want to target the treatment. The temples, parting or forehead line are particularly easy to follow. Massage gently with your fingers, without scratching. And there is no need to drown the roots under the product: more material does not mean more growth.
*The figure relates to reduction in breakage, not a 65.64% increase in growth.
