Do you hate mosquitoes? These 3 grandmother recipes will change your summer

Each summer is the same ritual: mosquitoes Invite our homes, on our terraces, and even in our bedrooms. If the chemicals are popular, they are not without consequences, neither for health, nor for the planet.

grandmother, 100 % natural, are as simple as it is effective, and have the merit of adding a touch of poetry to our daily life. Not only do they respect the environment, but they also create a warmer and healthy atmosphere. Here are three recipes to test without delay to spend a peaceful summer.

1. The studded lemon of cloves

This is probably the best known recipe … and for good reason: it works! Just cut a lemon in half and plant a dozen cloves. Then place the halves in the areas frequented by mosquitoes, such as window edges, bedside tables or even in the bathroom.

The acid-epicé mixture gives off a smell that mosquitoes do not support. Result: they flee without asking their rest. Repeat the lemons both or three days for optimal efficiency. Bonus tip: use this outdoor method during a summer dinner, having several lemons around the table to create a natural olfactory barrier.

2. The repulsive mist with essential oils

Fancy a homemade anti-mosquito side that smells good? Opt for a mist with essential oils. In a 100 ml spray bottle, mix 30 drops of lemongrass, 15 drops of true lavender, 10 lemon eucalyptus and complete with water or lavender hydrosol. You can also add a teaspoon of alcohol (vodka or alcohol at 70 °) to better disperse the oils.

Shake before each use, then spray on the textiles (except the most delicate), window frames or even in the air. As a bonus, your interior will feel the south and the holidays. This spray can also apply (in diluted version in vegetable oil) on wrists and ankles for skin protection, provided you are not allergic to essential oils.

3. Homemade incense with sage

Another ancestral method: gently burn a small fagot of sage or bay leaves, like an incense. This slight but effective smoke blocks mosquitoes that hate its somewhat wooded smell. You can roll them yourself with natural string, or buy them ready in organic stores.

Perfect at nightfall, this ritual works on both a balcony and interior (with open windows to avoid smoking the room too much). It is also a great way to purify air while creating a relaxing atmosphere, ideal for accompanying a meditation session or a evening reading.
