When we talk about hair loss, you often hear the same advice on a loop. And yet, in certain regions of the world, women have been using formidably effective natural oils for generations for generations … without even knowing it.
1. Fenugreek oil: an ignored nutritional bomb
You may know fenugreek seeds for their effects on breastfeeding or digestion. But do you know that their oil is one of the best kept secrets of Indian women to push their hair away?
Full of vegetable proteins, phyto-estrogens and lecithin, fenugreek oil stimulates hair follicles, strengthens lengths and fights hormonal fall. It is particularly indicated in the event of postpartum alopecia or thyroid deregulation.
The most amazing? It also promotes the thickening of fine and brittle hair, while giving volume to sparse areas. Its slightly strong smell can surprise, but a few drops of essential oil are enough to soften it.
2. Nigelle oil: the black gold of the scalp
Still called “black cumin oil”, nigelle oil has been used since Antiquity in Egypt, Morocco and the Middle East. It is even said that she was found in the tomb of Tutankhamon.
His secret? A high concentration of thymoquinone, a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. This molecule acts directly on the micro-inflammation of the scalp that slow down hair growth. It cleanses, purifies, and revives the growth in depth.
It is also recognized for calming itching, dandruff, even certain forms of eczema. Applied in oil bath or in light massage twice a week, it miracles on bald areas.
3. Mustard oil: the one you dare not try
Yes, you read well. Mustard. In oil. And no, it does not sting as you could imagine, if it is well used.
Mustard oil is very popular in India and Pakistan to activate blood circulation in the scalp. It contains glucosinolates, sulfur compounds that will boost the hair follicles in depth. Result: faster, dense and visible growth in a few weeks.
It is particularly recommended for frizzy or curly hair that struggles to push, but also works on smooth hair in lack of density. Be careful however: always do a test on the skin before, because it is very active.
How to integrate them into your hair routine?
These oils are not magic elixirs, but if you use them well, you could be amazed by the results. Here’s how to intelligently integrate them into your routine:
-
In oil bath: generously applies to the scalp and lengths, mass, leaves for 1 hour (or all night under Charlotte), then washed with a soft shampoo.
-
In stimulating massage: a few drops each evening, with a circular massage of 3 minutes to restart microcirculation.
-
In seasonal treatment: 2 times a week for 2 months, ideally in the fall or spring.
Give yourself time to observe the effects. The hair growth takes time, but these unknown oils can really make the difference, especially if you feel that “nothing works”.
