Each summer, it was the same galley. I wanted to enjoy the sun on my balcony, quietly installed in a swimsuit … but impossible to feel comfortable with the looks of the neighbors above or next. The first thing I did was invest in a nice bamboo screen. In a few minutes, I was able to cover the railing of my balcony with these natural canisses, which really cut the sight without giving the impression of living locked up. I chose a slightly openwork model to let the light pass while creating a real barrier against prying eyes. The effect is amazing: I have the impression of being in a small suspended garden just for me. And decorative bonus: it’s warm, aesthetic, and it completely changes the atmosphere!
2. Create a vegetable wall with climbing plants
To further strengthen intimacy, I installed a few pots of climbing plants on one side of my balcony. Ivy, jasmine, and even a climbing rose. In just a few weeksthe foliage began to expand and dress the space. Not only does it camouflage the view, but it also gives a very exotic vacation atmosphere. Frankly, being surrounded by green while sunbathing in the heart of the city is just happiness. And in addition, the plants create a natural barrier against heat!
3. Use a deported parasol as a cleverness cover
My last decorative favorite is a deported parasol that I oriented strategically to protect myself from the sun … but also from too curious neighbors. With its articulated arm, I can tilt it as I want according to the time of day and the orientation of the sun. He hides me right where I need it. Result: I can calmly read, sunbathe or relax in a jersey, without stress, while keeping a beautiful brightness. It’s super practical, and in addition it really gives the impression of having a mini private terrace area.
