At the beginning of April 2026, in the dead of night, the first “Michel par AM” truck was completely destroyed in a fire while it was parked on rue François Rocca. No casualties were reported, but the project launched in 2020 to make Alexandre Mazzia’s cuisine more accessible came to a sudden halt.
The manager immediately began looking for a new vehicle, working again with the same service provider as for the first truck to imagine a more functional version. Result: a new food truck, electric blue, with an optimized layout and a more Marseille-style visual identity. , confides Alexandre Mazzia to the Nouvelles Gastronomiques media.
Big Brother, Shuriken and AM fries: the new menu of the Michel food truck
With Michel, the chef extends his three-star universe in a more direct, more spontaneous format, without renouncing his taste for contrasts, spices and frank associations. For this reopening, the faithful will find two revised bestsellers, Big Brother and Shuriken, which took advantage of the forced break to evolve.
The Big Brother returns in a generous version, with smoked tomato bread, free-range poultry with satay, tiger escarole, smoked fresh cheese and scamorza, completed by red bean hummus with cumin, burnt sweet potato with chili and pica pica sauce. The Shuriken focuses on toasted bread, green vegetable satay marmalade, roasted sweet potato, smoked scamorza and dragon gel; AM fries remain the house signature, enhanced with spices and a sweet and sour pepper gel, while an apricot-vanilla tartlet and a watermelon granita, pumpkin seed praline, hibiscus and tamarind complete the menu.

With this return, Michel regains his place as a popular and unique chef’s truck, designed as a real neighborhood place. Located at 17, rue François Rocca, just opposite AM, it attracts local young people, families from the 8th arrondissement and gourmets who don’t necessarily have access to the three-star restaurant.
In just a few years, the food truck has already experienced several lives, between summer moves and pop-up formats, before this post-fire return.
