"My skin stayed soft for weeks" : this cult electric epilator in France amazed me from the first use

There are objects that we fear a little. Because we have painful memories or because we have simply gotten into the habit of avoiding them. For me, it was the epilator. Until I discovered Braun’s Silk-épil 9 electric epilator, presented as the most complete, the most gentle, the most everything. I wanted to check and here is my opinion.

First contact (and first impressions)

The box is neat, rather chic, with its accessories arranged to the millimeter. There’s everything: flexible epilation head, trimmer tip, shaving head, massage roller, even a storage pouch and a cleaning brush. It’s sharp, made in Germany and inspires confidence.

The handling is very intuitive. This electric epilator is light, well balanced, with a good grip in the hand. The central button allows you to adjust the two speeds, a light comes on as soon as you turn it on (very useful, especially in the bathroom where the light is rarely ideal).

Use: what I really felt

I tested it on my half legs, more precisely on the ankle area (where, apparently, my hair decided to grow with enthusiasm). And there, surprise. The pivoting head really adapts to the shape of the ankle (nothing slips or catches crooked) and the integrated light reveals all the stubborn little hairs. No need to go through a thousand times.

The feeling? It’s a bit of a stretch, obviously, but it’s bearable. The integrated massage roller really makes the difference: it “prepares” the skin and helps make hair removal smoother. I used it in the shower, with wet skin: it softens the action even more. In a few minutes, the area is clear. And contrary to what I feared, the skin is neither red nor irritated, just a little “sensitive” for an hour. The same evening, I applied a nourishing oil and it was as if nothing had happened.

What amazed me (and what surprised me)

My opinion on the Braun Silk-épil 9? What changes everything is the 3D flexible head. Really. It adapts to curves, particularly on the ankles or armpits and allows real precision without the need for contortions. It’s that little thing that keeps us going instead of giving up. And then there is the autonomy (50 minutes), the 40 tweezers, the two speeds, the tips adapted to sensitive areas and even the pressure sensor to avoid pressing too hard. Everything is designed to make hair removal effective, quick and, dare we say it, less unpleasant.

The only point to note: this is not an express razor to draw in 30 seconds. It takes a little time, a little method. But once it’s done, we’re at peace for several days.
