You think you are doing well, you are your beauty routine with care, you apply your favorite products … And yet, these famous pigment spots are invited, little by little. They appear without screaming, sometimes after a sunny day, sometimes months later, like a silent scar.
The sun does not forgive anything (even through the clouds)
We can never repeat it enough: exposure to UV rays is the main cause of pigment spots. Even in town, even when it is gray. It is not a question of vacation or beach, it is a question of consistency. Forgetting sunscreen is like signing a contract with your future hyperpigmentation.
Worse still, certain care such as retinoids, fruit acids or vitamin C sensitize your skin. If you apply them in the morning without suitable protection, you literally encourage UVs to engrave their brand. And do not forget: some perfumes contain alcohol and photosensitizing molecules. A few sprays on the neck, a lunch on the terrace, and hello indelible brands.
Stop touching your face, really
It is a reflex that we all have: piercing a button, scraping a crust, rubbing a scar. Except that each micro-aggression triggers an inflammatory mechanism. And if your skin produces too much melanin to defend itself, pigmentation is racing. Result: post-inflammatory stains that can last for months.
Do you want a clear face? It is better to let your imperfections take their course and treat them gently. Apply targeted care in the evening, avoids aggressive scrubs, and above all: hands far from the face.
Your evening routine can be your worst enemy … if you don’t pay attention
Do you love your serum with retinol, your AHA who give you this instant Glow? Alright. But they don’t mix well with sun exposure. Applying these powerful assets in the morning is a classic error … and yet avoidable.
Even face cleaning deserves your attention: an insufficient rinsing can leave irritating residues on the skin, especially if you use oils or products containing essential oils. And that too, it can weaken your skin barrier and open the door to pigment stains.
