This fragrant cloud to spray on skin and hair will replace your summer perfume (and you should adopt it now)

The sunny days return, the skin heats up and our winter scents quickly saturate the air. The heady accords that were reassuring in January become almost stifling in an open space or on a terrace. Many people want lightness without giving up the pleasure of wearing perfume.

This is exactly where scent mist comes into play. This ultra-light spray promises a more discreet fragrant cloud, easy to reapply throughout the day. It remains to be seen which one to adopt for the next spring-summer.

Spring-summer scented mist: why we choose it

When it’s hot, heat and scent don’t always go well together. Very oriental or woody notes quickly prove overwhelming, while fresh families, such as citrus citrus, aquatic accords or light woods, take over.

A perfumed mist is a much less concentrated spray than an eau de parfum. It leaves a light, almost watery veil on the skin, which can be sprayed generously. Some are limited to the body, others come in scented body and hair mist to also wrap the hair.

How to choose your scented mist for spring-summer

To choose, we first look at our olfactory universe. Citrus fruits such as bergamot, mandarin, lemon or grapefruit immediately evoke sunshine and energy, especially associated with mint, lavender or orange blossom. Lovers of escape will prefer solar accords like monoi or coconut, or even soft floral bouquets.

Then, we think about how it looks on the skin. Between hydrating mist, relaxing evening version and glittery mist that makes the shoulders shine, we target our needs, while keeping a format that is easy to slip into the bag. To find your way around, you can reason by desire:

  • Team freshness: citrus fruits, verbena, green tea for an invigorating trail.
  • Team beach: monoi, coconut, white flowers for a holiday atmosphere.
  • Team cocoon: musks and cotton notes for a very discreet clean effect.

The right actions to enjoy your scented mist

Once the mist is found, it’s all about the gesture. Spray it after a shower, on dry skin, from a short distance, targeting the neck, décolleté, arms and legs. During the day, a few additional sprays are enough to regain a feeling of freshness.

On the hair, we preferably choose a scented body and hair mist, to be sprayed only on the lengths. Some also like to layer their mist with a more intense perfume from the same family, to gain depth while keeping a light trail adapted to the heat.

Perfumed mist or eau de toilette for summer?

The mist is lighter and less concentrated than an eau de toilette. On average, it lasts around 2 hours, compared to around 3 hours for an eau de toilette and 5 hours for an eau de parfum.

Can you use a scented mist on your hair?

Yes, especially if the bottle mentions body and hair. We aim for the lengths, never the roots, and we space out the applications on very dry or colored hair.

Does a moisturizing scented mist replace body lotion?

A hydrating mist provides a veil of comfort but does not replace rich treatment. On very dry skin, it is best used in addition to a milk or cream.
