Just a metro trip or an appointment in the sun so that the shirt turns into a sponge. The problem is not always the temperature. This is what you wear. Because behind each halo, there is often a textile error.
The worst enemies of your comfort when it’s hot
Forget misconceptions: some “light” clothes are actually traps. Synthetic fibers, for example, may be fine, they retain heat and block the evaporation of perspiration. Result: you are hot, you sweat, and it shows.
-
The polyester : omnipresent in ready-to-wear, this fabric is hydrophobic. It keeps humidity on your skin and prevents air from circulating.
-
Elastane (or spandex) : Present in tight clothes, it accentuates the feeling of suffocation as soon as you move.
-
Nylon : Yet used in many sports clothes, it heats up quickly and absorbs sweat very little.
Note that some mixtures, such as synthetic cotton or so -called “technical” entry -level fabrics, combine the disadvantages without offering the announced profits. Also avoid: dark clothes, which absorb heat, and cuts too close to the body.
Materials to favor to stay dry
The idea is not only less sweating. It is also to allow your skin to breathe, your body to regulate its temperature, and the humidity to evaporate.
Winning materials are natural, breathable and often ancestral:
-
Flax : champion all categories. Thermoregulator, antibacterial, ultra-respirant, it dries in a flash. His only defect: he crumps out, but in summer, it’s almost a style.
-
Organic cotton : soft, absorbent and comfortable. Ideal for moderate days, provided that it is not too thick.
-
The cotton gauze : Even lighter than classic cotton, this double thickness material is perfect for summer tops.
-
Viscose (or radiates) : Although it is semi-synthetic, its production based on cellulose gives it very good breathability. Beware, however, of his sensitivity to humidity.
-
Bamboo : antibacterial, absorbent, often used for underwear. An excellent sustainable alternative.
Building on these materials is also investing in better sleep (pajamas, sheets), a stress -free journey (shirts and suitable tops), and a fresh look even by 35 ° C.
Dressing well in summer: a matter of material but also of cutting
A perfect poorly cut fabric is like a good idea poorly executed. If you have found the right materials, you still have to choose them well cut. The ultimate tip: Promote large and ventilated cuts. Less contact with the skin, more air circulation, therefore less sweat.
Avoid too adjusted clothing, tight belts, and plastic lines. Opt for slightly oversized short -sleeved shirts, flax fluid pants, or long but light dresses. Letting your body breathe is helping it naturally manage the heat.
And don’t forget the accessories: a straw hat, a fan in the bag, or even a small fogger can make all the difference. But without the right fabric, all of this remains DIY. The key is in the label that you will find it: at the line “material”.
