Created in 2023 by the William Reed press group, the ranking, brought together under the brand The 50, is based on more than 800 voters, each with seven votes for the hotels which have had the greatest impact over the last 24 months. The Top 10 lines up, behind Rosewood Hong Kong, Capella Bangkok, Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River, Atlantis The Royal, Passalacqua, Rosewood São Paulo, Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Upper House Hong Kong, Chablé Yucatán and Mandarin Oriental Bangkok.
The 2026 edition marks a new geography: eighteen Asian hotels are among the top fifty, compared to twenty-one in Europe. Passalacqua, fifth, is crowned Best Hotel in Europe and retains the Best Boutique Hotel Award, while Royal Mansour in Marrakech remains the best hotel in Africa.
Rosewood Hong Kong, face of the 50 Best New Generation Hotels
Opened in 2019 facing Victoria Harbour, Rosewood Hong Kong occupies a 270-metre tower which houses rooms, suites, eleven restaurants and bars and the Asaya spa.
