"The blurred effect is crazy!" : this setting powder for $6 makes my skin smoother than ever and lasts all day

I admit, I didn’t really believe in the buzz around this NYX setting powder. A miracle powder at such a low price? Odd. And yet… The first time I used it, in shade Apricot Attitude on my T zone and under the eyes, the result was immediate: my skin seemed blurred, smoothed, the pores almost invisible, without the slightest white veil. A real victory for my dark complexion.

What I loved:
the ultra fine and silky texture, which glides on the skin without leaving traces. No need to add tons: a mini dose is enough to
fix the complexion, reduce shine, and smooth irregularities without marking creases. Even at the end of the day, nothing had changed, not even my eye area (and yet, I have the capricious concealer).

No white marks, no dry areas, no scam: just a perfect skin finish

My biggest fear with this type of product is the gray effect that we know too well on
mixed and dark skin. No worries here. I also tested on a friend who wears the shade Cocoa Craze, and the effect is just as clear: the powder is truly translucent, with no dull effect or visible overcoat. Another good point: no texture that sticks, no powder that clumps around the nose or on the eyebrows. And above all, no feeling of dryness: the formula is enriched with green tea and peptides, which leaves an almost silky finish to the touch, slightly luminous, never set.

A complete routine for lifting and fixing effortlessly (and at a low price)

I used the powder with the brand’s powder puff to press it well onto the targeted areas. In mode baking under the cheekbones, or simply by tapping under the eyes, it does the job perfectly. The outfit? Up to 4 p.m. without touch-ups. I wore it on a rush day + evening, and nothing migrated.

In terms of shades, the range is extremely well thought out:

  • 4 translucent shades (Sugar Serve, Apricot Attitude, Cinnamon Catch, Cocoa Craze)

  • 4 illuminating shades (Banana Brat, Peach Posse, Sassy Spice, Cheeky Cherry)

And honestly? HAS
6$, hard to find better. My advice: apply it directly after foundation to gently sculpt the face. The effect is stunning, without overload.

What is a setting powder?

A setting powder is a loose or compact powder that is applied after foundation and concealer to fix makeup. It allows to prolong the hold, mattify the skin and
blur pores, without greasy or shine. If you’re looking for a clearer, smoother complexion that lasts all day, this is the step you shouldn’t skip.

When to apply setting powder?

Setting powder is applied after liquid or cream products. In a complete routine, you start with foundation, followed by concealer, then apply setting powder before finishing with blush and highlighter. If you’re looking to prevent your makeup from running or shining, this is the key moment in your routine.

How to choose your setting powder?

Choosing a setting powder depends on your skin type and shade of your skin tone. For oily skin, choose a mattifying powder. For dry skin, opt for a finer, hydrating formula. In terms of shade, translucent powders are suitable for all skin tones, but there are also warmer or darker shades to avoid the gray effect on dark to dark skin. If you are looking for a setting powder suitable for your complexion, check that it leaves no white residue and that it blurs without setting.
